The TP CLUB was established way back in 2001 with only a handful of staff as members. Today, its membership is open to all full time staff from all associated companies within the TP Group, who contribute a nominal fee in accordance with their salary range in order to enjoy the full benefits of the Club’s activities.
The Club is chaired by an elected Chairman and club committee, with the CEO as the honourary Advisor. In recent years, much focus was placed on travel and recreation, where members were given the opportunity to travel not just within Malaysia but to neighbouring countries as with Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong and China, without which would have been out of many a member’s ability to see the world – at least the closer parts outside Sabah.
TP Club also focused on the building of relationships amongst staff and with this, weekly activities were undertaken, ranging from the karaoke to team sports as with badminton, futsal, to allow staff from various locations and companies to get to know each other better.
We took every opportunity of the Malaysian culture – festivals – to further promote fellowship amongst its members. The Makan-Makan culture were also a hit with members during the Chinese New Year, Hari Raya and Christmas seasons.
One might think that the TP Club was only about enjoyment but that is far from true. We emphasize on giving back to the society and over the years, have had many events as with blood donations, visitations to the underprivileged & aged community.
With a much expanded membership roll, we now have activities not only in Kota Kinabalu but also in remote sites where the Company’s projects are undertaken.
